Workshop:7) Mechanical Maintenance on the Farm 101:
12:30pm - 1:30pm

My workshop will be geared toward the novices that plan to take on the numerous tasks of running and maintaining farm equipment. You don’t necessarily have to be a mechanic although having an aptitude and interest towards mechanical workings is a plus.
This class will help give you the confidence to take on the task of making sure the tools; equipment and machinery are in good working order for the task at hand. Some practical and simple measures will be discussed. A list of tools for the farm will be given.
We will look at the tractor and its parts, orchard mower and sprayer, 2 stroke and gas engines, and weed trimmer. One of the most important skills will be how to fill a grease gun without getting the grease all over yourself!
By the end of the workshop I hope it will give you confidence and encourage you to try your hand at maintaining your equipment and the use of your tools. You may have a sense of empowerment knowing how things work!
